Jeff Poorman leads the M&A Advisory Services practice at First Annapolis. He joined the firm in 2010 after more than 20 years of work with financial institutions to initiate and lead strategic transactions, divestitures, mergers, and acquisitions.
Jeff served as Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Group in Citigroup’s Global Investment Bank (f/k/a Salomon Smith Barney). He worked on many of the breakthrough deals in the consolidation of the credit card industry and advised card issuers on M&A deals valued at over $7 billion (in aggregate). Jeff was an early innovator in raising new forms of capital and high yield debt for financial institutions; he earned the 1998 ‘Deal of the Year’ award for his work to recapitalize Cal Fed Bank and Golden State Bancorp.
After the investment bank, Jeff worked for Citigroup Credit Card Services where he led business development. His responsibilities included origination of card partnership programs, new business strategy, portfolio acquisitions, valuations, due diligence, and related activities. Jeff worked across multiple Citigroup business units to coordinate initiatives for a range of financial products, consumer and corporate, for domestic and international markets.
